D-Link’s HQ’s marketing team urgently needed someone to hit the ground running and manage several consumer and corporate marketing projects. I was flattered to be highly recommended by my boss at Motorola to step in and so I did! This is what I got up to: event management, online and offline consumer product promotions, social media guidelines and campaigns, product packaging redesign, PR and web content management. I loved the consumer marketing campaigns at D-Link and at a later date I was invited back to help out again when they needed support.

I was excited to join De La Rue Cash Systems as the Global Marketing Manager for the Desktop Products Business Unit. It was a new industry sector for me and I loved working with our global network of business partners that spanned over 100 countries. I particularly enjoyed projects which took me to China, Brazil, South Africa, USA, Europe and the Caribbean!Our MD, put me forward for leadership training and I was also very lucky to work with a fantastic team and peers. My learning curve was high and I loved it!During my time here, we had a management buy-out and as a result transitioned to a brand new organisation - Talaris. A key member of the core marketing task force, I gained an invaluable insight and experience to brand and position a new company.

Flexibility in my work was key after I left Motorola. I worked within the Tech Marketing Department at Oracle Corporation which was a fantastic experience in a lively marketing team. I also volunteered at Comic Relief for Red Nose Day 2005 and freelanced at L'Ortolan Restaurant. From there I fundraised and volunteered in Sri Lanka after the tragic Asian tsunami.

This was such a pivotal role in my marketing career and where I learnt and experienced a key leadership role being responsible for the marketing strategies, structure and planning processes for all of our e-business, channel, PR, events, customer visits and telemarketing functions. Our General Manager, asked me to represent our Division and the marketing function at a new UK-wide Motorola local community support committee. This was such an honour and shortly after the Committee was formed, the Chair accepted a new role in India. I was put forward to take his place and found myself as the new Chair! What an experience for me and at such a young age! I proudly led and launched a new initiative ‘Motorola’s National Charity of the Year’ and appointed Kidscape as the inaugural charity. Such a fantastic experience!

Prologic was a wonderful family culture, providing IT solutions for the fashion and lifestyle industry. I was the first Marketing Manager appointed with this growing software company and I was excited to have this blank canvas! I introduced, developed and managed the initial branding and marketing strategy. I ran the first Fashion IT events and executed various PR campaigns to get our name out there and provide a steady stream of quality leads.

World Travel

I didn't want to have any regrets later in life that I didn't fulfil my dream to take some time out to travel around the world. Advised against it by our HR Department, gave my Mum kittens when I announced I was going solo travelling but it was something I HAD to do. It was one of my best life experiences and so liberating. My rucksack and I started off in Costa Rica and travelled through Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala and Belize. Then onto the Yucatan in Mexico and the USA. Then over to Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Bali, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Laos.

Motorola Internet and Networking GroupI was headhunted from Stream and began managing the marketing function for the UK, South Africa and The Netherlands and as my role grew I took on more and more markets. It was face-paced, lots of new initiatives and I loved it! I promoted to EMEA Marketing Manager and had my first experience of managing a team across various countries. I was responsible for the marketing budget and our cross-regional marketing campaigns. I won a few Awards along the way which yes I’m very proud of!

Stream International was a leading UK software reseller. I was recruited into this growing busy marketing team to manage and execute demand creation campaigns. I gained some fantastic experience working alongside various software giants such as Microsoft, Symantec, IBM, Corel and more utilising the £1.5m UK co-op marketing fund budget. However, this role really highlighted to me that I missed the international marketing side of things and so I made sure I got picky about my next position!

andmark, is a software and services provider to the oil and gas industry later acquired by Halliburton. Fresh out of Uni, this fantastic graduate job came with huge responsibility from the outset. I was thrown in at the deep end and it was either going to be sink or swim! As a highly ambitious person, I thrived in this environment! In my second week, I was shipped off to Moscow to sort out their customer database and from then on in I travelled to various places executing many marketing communication activities. I set-up new campaigns and events successfully bringing in leads for our sales teams and also managed collaborative projects to really look after our end-user base.
