Dawn M. Bauman, CAI’s chief strategy officer and the executive director of the Foundation for Community Association Research, has worked for CAI for more than 20 years at both the international and chapter level. CAI is the leading international organization representing the condominium, homeowners association, housing cooperative, strata, sectional title, property horizontal sector. This sector of housing is the fastest growing type of housing in the world and represents at least 30% of housing worldwide. Bauman is a leading expert in the community association housing model and is frequently sourced in U.S. and international media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, U.S. News & World Report, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Bankrate, on community association housing topics. She is a regular speaker and presenter at major conferences worldwide; including Australia, Canada, Colombia, South Africa, Spain, and throughout the United States.Since the tragic collapse of the Champlain Towers South condominium building in Miami, Florida, Bauman has led efforts nationwide, state, and local efforts to develop condominium safety public policy resulting in policy changes for safer condominium buildings in the U.S. and around the world. Bauman is an advocate for CAI at the state, local, and federal legislative and regulatory arena representing the community association housing model and has been recognized for her work with prestigious awards by the American Society of Association Executives, the Women in Government Relations, and the Public Affairs. Dawn has served as chief executive officer of the United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (USPRA), executive director of National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers (NBC-CAM), executive director of the ALS Association, Arizona Chapter, The Arizona Association of Defense Council, and the Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations.Dawn holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and has earned the prestigious Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation.
