This position provides leadership and support in the area of Program Development, Curriculum, and Accountability with the Office of Academic Affairs. The Academic Program Director is directly responsible for assisting the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and staff with the ongoing goals and responsibilities which include but are not limited to:• Integrated review for new degree program proposals at all USG institutions• Engaging with institutions on degree program related matters• Review and decision-making on degree program modifications, general education/core curriculum, transitional education (e.g., learning support), and degree program accountability reporting• Assisting the Deputy Vice Chancellor with agenda preparation for the Board of Regents’ Committee on Academic Affairs (in consult with the Executive Vice Chancellor & Chief Academic Officer)• Representing the Office of Academic Affairs on various committees/advisory groups/task forces pertaining to faculty and academic degree program-related matters.• Provide leadership for the USG Early College initiative and ensure that if informs educator preparation, college access, and college completion strategies across the USG• Provide support, professional development and communication around key policy and school development issues related to Early College partners

 Provide leadership and support for certain USG College Readiness, Access and Success Initiatives and Early College; specifically to accomplish missions, goals and targeted outcomes. Lead and/or serve on internal and external groups regarding college access and success collaborating around policy and effectiveness Provide leadership for the Community Resource Outreach Strategy for College Access Challenge Grant (CACG) to increase K-12 student level impact of grant strategies Serve as USG Internal Strategy lead for Community Engagement, Near Peer Mentor, Disconnected Youth, Dual Enrollment and Business Engagement strategies for CACG which includes support for external partners contracts, work plans, data submission/reports budgets, reports and invoices Provide presentations and training on CACG and other College Access/Success resources for local, statewide and national partners, K-12 students/parents/staff, higher education, business, government and community organizations/collaborative groups Provide additional target focus, collaboration and support for “Disconnected Youth” populations to include poorly performing districts, high school seniors, youth in foster care or who are homeless, children of incarcerated parents and minority males. Serve as Conference Chair for second annual “College Connections for Student Success: A Focus on Foster, Homeless and Other Disconnected Youth” conference. Assist in Social post, strategy as well as CACG presentations, brochures and other PR materials Provide leadership for the Early College initiative and ensure that it informs college access and college completion strategies across the University System Support the Early College partners and their strategic and community outreach plans with a focus on accountability, continual academic improvement and sustainability Provide support, professional development and communication around key policy and school development issues to Early College partners

 Lead efforts to formalize and manage partnership efforts with other statewide and local K-12 and higher education, corporate, governmental and faith-based partners working to collectively improve high school graduation and college enrollment rates in Georgia. Manage infrastructure and award process for GO Mini-Grants, including applications procedures, feedback, disbursement and accountability reporting from recipients while insuring mini-grant budget is awarded on appropriate timeline. Maximize public relations opportunities related to mini-grant awardees and GO Centers. Develop blueprint strategy and lead outreach development of GO centers (Also known as Career Centers) in K-12 schools, higher education institutions and community and faith-based organizations while managing “openings” timeline and information reporting structure. Manage annual revision and publication process of GO Kits including aligning modules with age-appropriate K-12 curriculum and incorporating curriculum updates based on research and evaluation of existing workshops. Develop blueprint and coordinate statewide college and community G-Force Volunteer teams development and training, while creating mechanism to connect with GO Centers in K-12 schools, higher education institutions and community and faith-based organizations. Served as K-12 liaison with Georgia Department of Education.

 Coordinated efforts to provide services to students from participating middle schools and high schools with academic competencies to increase access and ability to successfully enter and complete a post-secondary program of study through tutorials, enrichment activities, workshops, counseling and referral of services. Collaborated with Atlanta Colleges and University PREP Partnerships (ACUPP) to provide leadership for PREP Advanced Saturday Academy for High School Students. Taught high school classes and conducted workshops for 9-12th grade students at Advanced Saturday Academy. Coordinated and supervised staff of middle school and high school teachers and liaisons, college tutors, tutor coordinators, teacher assistants and administrative staff as well as conduct staff orientation, development and training. Collaborated with community organizations and solicit additional funding. Coordinated middle school and high school parent workshops and academic, social and cultural enrichment programs for students.  Developed, coordinated and evaluated program budget and produced reports reflecting program activities and milestones. Designed, wrote articles and maintained distribution of monthly newsletter highlighting informative articles for college bound students, referrals of resources and upcoming events.
