The position provides strategic advice to the Vice President of Conservation and Policy and others and works collaboratively with partners across the landscape to advance existing and emerging policy issues that increase conservation impact.

The Canadian Parks Council (CPC) is a national forum for information sharing and collaborative action on parks and protected areas among federal, provincial and territorial governments. In this role, the Executive Director provides professional advice and services to the Board of Directors and builds broad support and action to effectively deliver the organization's vision and strategic direction.Key accomplishments and experience:- Restored full federal, provincial and territorial (FPT) commitment to the CPC for the first time in decades by initiating a shift to serving common interests, while enhancing operations and managing high turnover (13 new Directors over 5 years)- Planned and delivered the 2016 Canadian Parks Summit (co-Chair) which brought together all levels of government and allied sectors- Special Advisor, National Steering Committee, Pathway to Canada Target 1 (2016 - present)- Organized and managed a FPT Parks Ministers' Meeting (2014) and 15 FPT Parks Deputy Minister meetings (3 face-to-face) since 2012.- Represented and led the CPC's significant involvement and impact at the World Parks Congress (2014) and World Conservation Congress (2016)- Established a new partnership with Canada's municipal and regional parks via a Memorandum of Understanding (2015) with the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association- Co-authored the Position Statement on Active Outdoor Play in collaboration with multi-sector experts (2015)
