We are a ‘start up’ team dedicated to achieving our mission to create a “Community of lifelong learners, successfully navigating the world of work”. We work with industry leaders and academics to develop ground breaking credentialed online short courses and online degree programs. I provided thought leadership and pedagogical expertise to ensure best practice in online teaching and learning.I scaled a high performing team from 3 people to 18 people. I led a team of Coaches, Teaching & Learning Coordinators, and Student Success Advisers. My team recruited, placed, and trained +850 online teachers (including Mentors, Online Facilitators, Online Tutors). We also supported over +17,000 online student enrolments through the application of automated personal learning profiles.Teacher coaching & developmentI conceptualised, designed, and delivered an evidence based and data informed coaching program for online teachers. The ongoing impact of the coaching program continues to be measured by the Good Teaching Score (GTS), which increased by over 30 percentage points from 2018 to 2020. This approach was described as "world leading" by the VC, DVC, and CEO of a global partner organisation. Teacher recruitmentI designed and scaled a partnership processes for sourcing, on boarding, and training RMITO online teachers. This process was nimble enough to onboard and train teachers within 24 hours of placement.Student SuccessI designed a Student Success framework that drew from two areas of literature (effective online teaching & learning and student retention). We used this framework to trial new initiatives such as peer on-boarding sessions, academic skills workshops, and approaches for increasing student-to-teacher interactions. These initiatives increased retention and contributed to an increase in student satisfaction metrics.
