I’m Dawn, I grew up a dancer with a focus on ballet, but dabbled in many of the performing arts. As an adult, I began a professional career in fashion and talent acquisition working with big companies like Michael Kors, Equinox, and Reformation. Years later, I ditched my desk job realizing my talents and personality were best expressed through taboo. I dove headfirst into creative entrepreneurship and brought my blended experience into an erotic performance art company I started called, Sweven. Sweven is a mix of my past and passion and represents my rebellion against the conformity and repression I have experienced for years trying to be myself. Life feels easier when we’re not taking everything so seriously, including our sexuality. My work is playful but provocative, dancing the delicate line between trashy and tasteful to allow sexuality the range and room to breathe. I enjoy experimenting with contradiction and confusion and the tension it creates. Sweven is heavily informed by my own life experiences and encounters and exists to restore the lost art of sensuality, presenting embodied women on their terms being celebrated for their individuality, turning feminine expression into creative play. My show is mostly improvisational, because I believe eroticism thrives on unpredictability and a bit of danger. The result is a visceral experience with sensual entertainment that is less artificial and more voyeuristic to watch and adds a level of authenticity that is often missing in the portrayal of female sexuality.Through the pursuit of Sweven, I developed a skill for styling lingerie and creative direction. I began an obsession with scouring the city and world for rare vintage pieces and jewelry, mixing them with luxury lingerie collections creating a fresh and unique aesthetic. I often have accessories and pieces made when I can’t find what is in my head. They aren’t functional at all but are fun and ridiculous to play with. Much like my life, my work and creative style is curated and ever evolving based on the cultural, historical, psychological, and sexual studies and expressions I’m turned on to at the time. I am also inspired and influenced by erotic high fashion photography, surrealism, the 80’s and 90’s era, french culture, and foreign vintage erotic films.

Founder And Creative DirectorSweven Jul 2019 - PresentFeaturing an all-female cast, Sweven has carved a new genre for entertainment. We don't do burlesque and we are not strippers. We exist instead to restore the lost art of sensuality by bringing sexuality out of the darkness and into the light. We are not taking ourselves too seriously here for this reason. Drawing inspiration from erotic high fashion photography and vintage foreign erotic films, Sweven feels like an Ellen Von Unwerth photoshoot, an experimental fashion show, an art gallery exhibit opening, and Sleep No More all rolled into one. We soften the line between sensual expression and the sexually explicit in order to make eroticism more approachable. Sweven is built on intimacy and friendship which serves as a foundation of safety for the cast to experiment with sexuality and free their inhibitions during their performances. What also sets Sweven apart is the improvisational nature of our show creating a paradox of unpredictability and a bit of danger in order for eroticism to thrive. Our performers rely on their existing close relationships to inform and intuit their creative expression with each other. In a way, we are metaphorically making love through creative play and performance art which is why our experiences feel more voyeuristic and less artificial. The women in the show are encouraged to bring their unique personality and what makes them weird to the performance and to make it their own which is both empowering and intoxicating to watch and adds a level of authenticity that is often missing in the portrayal of female sexuality. Our experiences are designed for smaller audiences in order to curate intimate environments with intentionality around how your senses are being stimulated. It’s not just about how an experience looks, it’s about how it feels, for both the artists and the audience that leaves a lasting impact. In this way we believe in minimizing distractions in order to connect you deeper to each other and the women in the show.
