I love words, language and languages. When I was 15, I ran a Saturday market stall which sold and exchanged second-hand books. I had always loved reading and was fascinated by words. As a regular customer, I persuaded the stall owner to employ me as his assistant and soon afterwards I was running the stall on my own each weekend, while he worked on another market. That love of words developed into a passion for language and languages.
