I believe in providing people with information that will equip them to improve their lives. As an award-winning journalist, I covered topics ranging from education and homelessness to mass shooting and public policy. I am dedicated to grounding the public discourse in fact, tellings stories with heart and putting a personal face on the issues that face our community through photography and the written word.My reporting has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Ventura County Star, Poynter, Acorn Newspapers, Central Coast Farm and Ranch and The Unmooring. My marketing work has appeared in the Washington Post. My writing has received awards from the California Newspaper Publishers Association, the California Teachers Association and the California School Boards Association. I have been a guest lecturer in writing and journalism at the University of Southern California, California Lutheran University, California State University Northridge and Moorpark College. My goal is to empower the public to engage in and improve their communities through accurate information, clear communication and honest storytelling. In my current role, I seek to connect families living with disability with programs and resources that transform lives.
