As early as I can remember, I have been drawn to explore the beauty and mystery of the natural world. As an undergraduate, I studied the kinetics and thermodynamics of DNA replication. My undergraduate studies sparked an interest in mathematics, so I applied for and was awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship to study mathematics at the University of Washington. In 2010 I earned my Ph.D. in mathematics/geophysical fluid dynamics from Johns Hopkins University. My graduate studies, experiences as a mathematics professor, and experience in technical writing and editing indicate my ability to organize, proofread, and present technical material in a clear, concise, and engaging fashion, to a variety of audiences. I am able to think synthetically and to process and communicate highly technical concepts with great focus and attention. The breadth of my scientific and mathematical training makes me uniquely suited to understand, assimilate, and articulate concepts from a variety of disciplines. I am highly adaptable and capable of learning new formats and document styles corresponding to various industrial sectors.
