Content is my passion and has been the constant thread throughout my career. I first qualified as a journalist, reporting the news for nearly a decade, before jumping the fence into PR when my former managing editor asked me to come join his new business - Media Matters. That was back in 1995 and we never looked back. Public relations and client account management became my key priorities and over the years evolved into building and managing six-figure-budget marketing strategies for our clients. As the agency grew, so did my responsibility and desire to look out for and manage the people within our team. Today, this is my other passion (I still love content and writing!). Media Matters has changed ownership three times during its lifetime, the last one being April 2023 when myself and Karen took over the reins. A new company (DAKA Marketing Ltd) was set up but we were adamant that the unique legacy of the Media Matters' brand should live on, and so it became our trading name – Media Matters Agency.Today, our agency continues to evolve in an ever-changing and challenging world. We see it as our duty to embrace the needs of our clients, bringing them a commercially-focused marketing service aligned with their real time objectives. For us, that means adopting an inbound approach and we're proud to do this as a HubSpot Gold Solutions Partner. I'm as driven today as I was a decade ago and the decade before that. The marketing industry is, and always will be, one of the fastest changing environments and the need to be at the forefront of that, for ourselves and our clients, is an exciting place to be.
