My name is Dawson Lynch, and I'm a Truman State University alumnus with a diverse array of fascinations, experiences, and skills. My interest in Communication initially stemmed from my passion for working with and developing relationships with others. It has awakened in me a zeal for service leadership which motivated me to get involved as a Student Advisor at Truman. Facilitating new students' growth and enjoyment in a community I love always brought a smile to my face, and I know I'll carry the friendships, memories, and training from the experience with me wherever I go. My intense appreciation for the Japanese language and culture emerged through my studies in much the same way, a feeling which only grew stronger during my time studying abroad in Japan. The time I spent refining my language skills at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies and immersing myself in the new and beautiful environment around me is an adventure I will never forget and would gladly repeat. Every summer, I volunteer as a counselor at the Missouri Boys State summer leadership program. There are few experiences that have provided me with the profound sense of pride and purpose that my involvement in the program has, and I look forward to continuing to give back to the program by guiding the young leaders in our great state each year.In a similar vein, I am always seeking opportunities for enriching experiences interfacing with others. These were the facets of my previous team-oriented roles at Target and GEICO that I most enjoyed, and I am eager to continue along my professional journey in a way that maximized my ability to create valuable connections with myself, my employer, and the clients with whom we will strive to provide an excellent experience.
