I bring clients’ and owners’ visions for their buildings and process plants to life. What I strive for and achieve on a daily basis is bringing the most value to clients in terms of satisfaction, efficiency, expertise, and performance. I am more than just an electrical engineer – I am the face clients see and ask for when they need to bring their vision to life. I’ve achieved this through an extensive track record of successfully – and unsuccessfully – designing and administrating the construction of various commercial and industrial projects, and fostering my client relationships. Having built these client relationships, they understand that I treat every failure as an opportunity to learn and grow. I don’t fall down, I fall up. All clients – whether they be architects, institutions, businesses, or individual owners deserve to work with an engineer who understands their needs and constantly strives for continuous improvement and growth. I understand the uncertainty and risk involved in ensuring the right person is on the figurative "bus", but I can confidently say that the "bus driver" of every "bus" I’ve occupied has been happy to have me on a seat. They say only 20% of professionals are competent. But competence is just satisfactory. I strive for outstanding. I’m constantly in relentless pursuit of being the best version of myself I can be. I ask myself daily how I have improved from the day prior, whether it be improving my relationships, increasing my technical knowledge, or optimizing my work flows and habits. I understand that my future self will reflect on my current self and almost be embarrassed by this current self. This growth mindset allows me to bring more of my clients’ visions to life by being at the forefront of their minds. In addition to constant improvement, my passions include being the BEST at badminton, daily reading and learning, and regular weight training. I love waking up in the early, quiet, and dark winter mornings before the world begins to stir in order to complete my most important tasks and exercise. My morning routine is sacred and starting the day off like this brings me peace, satisfaction, and accomplishment. I also love diving into others' motivations, passions, and future plans to discuss how they came about, their overlaps, and valuable insights we can mutually glean."A scientist looks at the world and tries to explain what he sees. An engineer looks at the world and tries to supply what he sees is missing." - G.F.C. Rogers

Electrical Engineering AideKgs Group Jul 2017 - Aug 2017Over the summer, I marked up numerous drawings and responded to Requests For Information (RFI) from clients and contractors, including one in which there were over 100 equipment tagging conflicts. I also did lighting design for various projects by modelling the lighting in Visual and consequently making the lighting plan drawings. Along with the lighting, I updated and issued a design calculation document as per the changed designs. I also created as-built drawings from a project I spearheaded last summer. I performed load calculations in order to generate panel schedules and ensure even loading, and consulted the Canadian Electrical Code for sizing cables under various situations and loads. I verified the requirements of certain pumps and a 51G ground fault relay that were specified for a project, such as verifying the ground fault relay could trip when a fault with a pulsating DC current occurs (the pumps communicated with the controllers via high frequency data imposed on the power lines). I also verified that multiple controller units needed to have their power cables separated by a foot unless they were shielded, which I indicated so on the drawings. For a particular project, there was paint and primer that was to be used in a hazardous area. The paint contained many substances that were combustible, however the MSDS only gave a range of potential concentrations that each substance could be found in the paint. Hence, I performed a sensitivity analysis based on the indicated ranges of substances by % weight and individual Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) and Upper Explosive Limit (UEL) concentrations in order to compute the LEL and UEL of the mixture using Le Chatelier's Mixing Rule for a mixture of combustible substances. From the sensitivity analysis, I was able to determine the lowest possible LEL and the highest possible UEL and indicated the dangerous range of concentrations on the respective drawings. -
Electrical Engineering AideKgs Group May 2016 - Aug 2016865 Waverley StOver the summer, I determined the power draw that would occur from non-motor loads from simple calculations, selected cable types based on the technical specifications of the project, and according to the Canadian Electrical Code, sized appropriate gauges of cable from the required ampacities. I made several load lists, consisting of loads, their sources, voltage, full load amps, power draw, and kilowatt-hour usage. I also selected and specified numerous luminaires and the required mounting parts in the luminaire schedule and on the electrical details drawings. I then designed and modelled the lighting plans for several rooms, including circuiting. I also complied with CSA standards regarding the levels of emergency lighting required. Furthermore, I made and edited single line diagrams due to either receiving updated drawings from the client, having a change in loads or scope, or simply finding errors or omissions. In particular, a project that I spearheaded, became quite familiar with, and developed many drawings for was a temperature and pressure control project. The drawings consisted of a demolition plan, power plan, lighting plan, systems plan, single line diagram, interconnection diagram, miscellaneous electrical details such as light mounting and conduit penetrations, and a SAMA diagram.I also worked on two separate capital cost estimates for different projects. This involved determining the cost and quantity of all equipment and parts, as well as their installation time to determine labour hours. In many instances I had to communicate with external parties in order to find the information I needed. These parties included equipment manufacturers, distributors, sales people, and of course individuals from the other KGS Group building. Lastly, having had some experience working with client drawings and their drafting standards, I have improved my ability to read drawings from clients, especially Manitoba Hydro. -
Electrical Engineering AideKgs Group May 2015 - Aug 2015865 Waverley St.I was an Electrical Engineering Aide at KGS Group Consulting Engineers, where I learned a great deal, ranging from the structure of consulting engineering, to the application of engineering knowledge to numerous projects. I had helped to design the lighting plans for numerous rooms in a new facility for a client, ranging from specifying the lighting fixtures, to the placement and selecting of mounting heights such that both the fixtures and illumination levels met the the requirements set out in the technical specifications of the contract. I had designed the emergency lighting plans in order to meet the specifications as well, and had also designed numerous mounting details for each fixture so the contractor would know how to mount each fixture. I performed induced shield voltage calculations in a two circuit, stacked arrangement, on an approximate 1200 foot run of cable in order to see if the induced shield voltage would exceed the IEEE recommended practice of 25V. I performed several shop drawing reviews and issued documents to clients as well.I learned the methods of creating motor starter, exhaust fan, and damper control schematics, including the symbols and operations of numerous devices, such as relay contacts and coils, types of switches, breakers, fuses, transformers, and so on. -
Technical Support StudentManitoba Hydro Apr 2014 - Aug 2014820 Taylor Ave.I spent the majority of my time at Manitoba Hydro helping to prepare a Subtransmission Assessment Report where I analyzed data from 2004-2014 about the loads on the banks and lines of numerous generating stations in Manitoba in order to project what loads would be like up to 2033, as well as to see if loads would exceed station or line limits to determine if any work will be required on a station in the near future. I then verified these figures through high level power flows in PSS/E. -
Line CookJoey Restaurant Group Aug 2012 - Nov 2013Winnipeg, Canada Area- I began as a dishwasher where I prioritized my tasks to quickly and efficiently complete the job to prepare the restaurant for closes- I then moved up to an appetizer cook, and then a woks and pans saute cook, and then I moved to ovens, sushi, and salads. - These jobs required extremely efficient use of time and ability to work in a very fast paced environment
