I have extensive experience with distributed systems organized as service-oriented architectures. Recent projects include building high-performance messaging services that personalize and publish notifications generated by the enterprise to third-party, multi-channel service providers. In other projects, I've developed features that (cost-effectively) store and serve massive volumes of genetic relationship information; built high-performance genetic classifiers based on random forest models trained by data scientists; and created mechanisms that verify the health and performance of cloud-based microservices.I enjoy riding my Orbea road bike, averaging twenty-five hundred miles per year commuting to work as well as recent touring rides in the Pacific Northwest and Spain. In my spare time, I volunteer as a fossil preparation technician at local museums extracting specimens from field jackets and preparing them for study and display; currently working on the cervical vertebrae of a Jurassic Brontosaurus.
