I am the Founder of bare market, a multi-year award winning "zero waste" grocery and retail shop in Toronto. I also work as a consultant on sustainable food systems and social enterprise development. I have extensive experience in qualitative and quantitative research and reporting, ESG principles and frameworks, facilitation, planning, social media marketing, and community development, including work with numerous social enterprises, public sector and not-for-profit organizations. I have also volunteered on the Toronto Youth Food Policy Council, and acted as the Planning Secretary on the Board of Directors for Karma Co-op. I graduated with a Master’s of Science in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability and crafted my Thesis on addressing food waste mitigation as a contribution to strategic sustainable development in Vancouver, BC. I hold a Bachelor's of Science in Global Resource Systems from UBC where I studied agroecology and the sustainability of the food industry in North and South America, specifically assessing the impact they have on food security, nutrition, whole health and community development. I was previously partner of a social enterprise called Uproot, which diverts wood waste from landfills through up-cycling and distribution, while simultaneously engaging community members on sustainability issues. Based on my active role in Uproot’s creation, I was selected for the 2015 RADIUS Fellowship in Radical Doing.I am a world traveller and have international volunteer and academic experience in England, South Africa, Ecuador, Thailand, Cambodia, Cuba, and Sweden.
