Helping to steer the Royal Society of Chemistry's education programme through these turbulent times.

· Jointly responsible for devising and implementing physics-based public engagement activities for the Physics in Society programme and for supporting the physics outreach activity of the National HE STEM programme.· Projects include administration of a grant scheme, devising projects to engage non-specialist audiences, collaboration with partner organisations to deliver specific projects.

· Responsible for planning and organising MOSI’s contribution to the 2009 Manchester Science Festival, UK’s most popular science festival with more than 100,000 visitors.· Responsible for organising and overseeing the “Meet the…who will it be?” programme, which included liaising with academics, industry scientists and engineers.· Collaborated with Public Programmes to plan, prepare and deliver science activities and demonstrations both on- and off-site, including attendance at Korea Science Festival.

· Responsible for the day-to-day running of a deployed lorry, including liaising between schools, volunteers and the haulage company to arrange regional tours, ensuring that the tours remain within budget, providing training and support for volunteers during events and ensuring the experiments are in good working order.· Responsible for reporting and administrative duties related to the programme, including collecting and assessing evaluation, interacting with local media and being spokesperson and advocate of the Lab in a Lorry programme.

· Responsible for devising, trialing and writing instructions for lecture demonstrations and experiments designed to raise awareness of magnetism and to enthuse all ages in science.· Involved in collaboration and liaison with international members of the Network as well as reporting and administrative duties related to the Public Awareness Work Package.· Contributed to the creation of a “general public corner” of the MAGMANet website

· Responsible for oversight of the Questacon Smart Moves (QSM) and Outreach Bookings teams, including staff supervision, booking and tour coordination, financial management, project logistics (including the touring programme, student conference and website), liaison with internal and external stakeholders and representation of Outreach at internal and external committees and working groups.(also acting in this position 16 Jan – 24 Feb and 27 Mar - 28 Apr 06)

· Responsible for supervising Questacon Smart Moves (QSM) presenter and bookings staff, including organisation of the team’s work schedules and performances and coordination of the QSM project logistics.· Managed the QSM website, bookings and promotional material, liaising with the relevant parts of Questacon, consultants and external contractors.· Contributed to the evaluation, reporting and development of the programme, including: implementation of a new show format and corresponding method for recording all show content; the establishment of the “QSM Manual”; and organising a ‘new starter’ training program for all presenters, to ensure an appropriate skill set necessary to perform their roles to a high standard.

• Responsible for researching, developing and writing a number of undergraduate chemistry laboratory practicals.• Liaison with academics at VICS universities (Melbourne, Monash and RMIT).

· Jointly responsible for researching, writing and performing multimedia shows. Research included sourcing interesting stories, investigating the SETI by contacting the relevant academics and inventors, persuading these experts to provide content (stories, images and videos) for use in the presentations, and then interpreting the stories for a secondary school (and occasionally primary school) audience (ensuring they were both relevant and entertaining).
