Research and development of an x-ray microscope based on coherent lensless imaging.
Led collaborative scientific investigations into patterned and pristine magnetic oxide thin films using x-ray spectroscopy and photoemission electron microscopy. Used physical vapor deposition to grow epitaxial thin films of perovskite oxides and characterized those films using x-ray diffraction/spectroscopy/reflectometry techniques and vibrating sample.
Led discussion sections instructing students on concepts such as materials science fundamentals, electronic and magnetic properties of materials, general chemistry, and MATLAB programming. Additionally led an introductory chemistry lab section with over 20 students, providing them with hands-on training with the safe handling of acids/bases and mitigation.
Investigated multilayered magnetic thin films using a hybrid microwave- and x-ray-based spectroscopy technique called x-ray detected ferromagnetic resonance (XFMR). Performed instrumentation work on the XFMR setup, improving it's detection sensitivity by 10x while suppressing crosstalk-related artifacts.
Advanced Materials And Medical Instruments Lab
Investigated robotic actuation in minimally-invasive surgical devices using the software ANSYS Mechanical to perform finite element analysis simulations.
