About two decades experience as a cross-functional leader, management strategist, corporate transformation expert, program director, and digital innovation specialist with a strong track record of transformative business and socio-economic impacts across the African continent. Dayo works with Heifer International, as the Director, Youth & Technological Innovation, Africa Region. Established in 1944, Heifer International is a nonprofit corporation formed under the laws of the State of Arkansas, United States of America, working internationally in 21 countries. Heifer’s mission is to end hunger and poverty in a sustainable way by supporting and investing alongside local farmers and their communities. In his role as Director, Youth & Innovation, Africa Region, he is leading external partnerships and harnessing digital innovation to leapfrog agriculture across African countries – addressing poverty and hunger, and creating jobs for the youth at scale. Heifer is in Senegal, Nigeria, Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia. He is passionate about moving Africa to a dominant digital economy.He has been leading the design and integration of several digital technological innovation programs that will be supporting millions of smallholder farmers, and creating jobs at scale for young Africans across several countries. He has also led Heifer’s work in Africa through partnerships and participation in continental forums such as AGRA’s (Alliance for Green Revolution Africa) AGRF, the world premier forum for Africa’s agriculture. Before joining Heifer International, he was the Head of Transformation & Strategy at Africa’s Global Bank - the United Bank for Africa (UBA), where he program-managed several digital technological innovations and business improvements in UBA subsidiaries across 20 African countries.Before joining UBA, he was Special Advisor, Strategy & Business Development at Diamond Bank PLC – where, working with the executive team, he supervised Nationwide business development activities and provided strategic business intelligence to the Bank. Before joining the executive suite at Diamond Bank, Dayo was the Strategy & Transformation Lead where he led key digital transformation programs and disruptive financial inclusion programs for the Bank among others. While in Diamond Bank, he worked closely with global management/strategy consultants such as Oliver Wyman, Roland Berger, Bain, among others.He has a first degree in Engineering Physics, and an MBA in Finance. He has been featured as a subject expert on CNBC Africa.

    Youth & Technological Innovation Competition (AYuTe) - In 2021, I led the design and launch AYuTe Africa Challenge fund. The AYuTe Africa Challenge is an annual competition that awards cash grants to promising young agritech innovators and firms across the continent — professionals who are using technology to reimagine farming and food production in Africa.Tractor Sharing Services – there is a huge mechanization gap in Africa, and I led the design and integration of Hello Tractor’s tractor sharing solution into several countries to help smallholder farmers to farm faster at reduced costs.Climate Smart Solutions - cold storage, weather information services – reducing greenhouse gas emissions and providing agro-climate information and advisory services have been identified as veritable strategies for climate mitigation and adaptation respectively. In this regard, I led the design and integration of Cold Hubs solar powered cold storage service and Ignitia’s climate information services to provide smallholder farmers with affordable cold storage to minimize post-harvest losses and to smallholder farmers with timely weather information to build resilience against climate change.Agri InsurTech Services – the risks that small and medium scale farmers are exposed to is continuing to grow and is becoming more diverse. Systemic events such as droughts, floods, locust infestations and new pests are diseases are becoming increasingly frequent while growing in scale. PULA is an insurtech service provider and I led the design and integration of PULA’s insurance to cover losses experienced by smallholder farmers in Africa.Digital Extension Services - the last pandemic has proven that traditional extension services are no longer sustainable I led the design and integration of KUZA Biashara’s digital extension services model for the delivery of training modules and packages cost-effectively and sustainably.

Digicow’s core business is the development of mobile phone technologies for the agricultural sector to enable the agricultural value chain increase productivity and profitability through data driven decisions.Access to Information Services – I am leading the integration of access to information services through Brastorne’s innovation providing digital market information services to smallholder farmers who do not have smart phones and cannot access the internet.
