Modeled the hierarchical bone structure to assess strength and simulated delamination at the HAp-protein interface. A novel material structure inspired by bone's hierarchy was also analyzed for strength and fracture behavior. Using ABAQUS 6.14, we modeled PLA polymer as the soft material and HAp as the hard constituent, subjecting them to uniaxial tensile loading. Cohesive surface modeling was used for the soft-hard interfaces, and stress concentration was higher in the porous model, with accurate delamination simulation. This study could pave the way for novel material designs mimicking bone hierarchy.

Aircraft wings endure thrust, drag, and transient loads from gusts, contributing to stability but also causing defects like micro cracks due to fatigue. We aim to study fatigue and fracture failure from wind load over an airplane's lifespan. The wing is modeled as a cantilever beam, with fluctuating wind load applied. Using ANSYS, we model the wing with an embedded crack and simulate drag, lift forces as pressure on adjacent faces under transient wind load to determine loads on an aero foil via CFD analysis. This analysis helps understand fatigue behavior in transient loading conditions like wind.
