About Debajyoti B.

I have a Ph.D. in computational geophysics—fluid dynamic modeling and simulations. Also, I am a published author in a top tier peer-reviewed journal. I love data science and machine learning. Currently, I work in the oil and gas industry, and am interested in data science/ML roles. To deepen my understanding of the advanced machine learning techniques, I am pursuing an MS in data science at UT Austin.Apart from Microsoft Windows, I mainly use Unix-like operating systems—different Linux distributions as well as macOS. I regularly take advantage of High Performance Computing (HPC) facilities that require extensive use of shell scripting and MPI. I have experience in working with multiple programming languages, including but not limited to Python, R, Rust, Java, C++, MATLAB, Fortran, Perl, and IDL. I use both relational and non-relational databases: SQL, mongoDB, etc. In addition to containerizing of applications using Docker products, cloud computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) are an integral part of my workflow. As of late, I have started using PySpark and Snowflake to get into big data analytics. I am also proficient in Tableau, Power BI, and advanced Microsoft Excel.My machine/deep learning toolbox includes PyTorch, Google JAX, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, and Keras. However, I am increasingly focusing on PyTorch, JAX, and scikit-learn.
