He was appointed and reappointed by Governor Jerry BrownDavid is a member of the Board of Directors of UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, Infinity Pharmaceuticals and the CA Like Science Association.,David Beier served on several committees of the National Academy of Sciences including "Human Gene Editing: Scientific, Medical and Ethical Considerations".
