Fotowatio USA (US branch of FRV Company) . Mr. Belmonte is the former President and CEO Fotowatio USA, Inc., the US subsidiary of Fotowatio, one of the world’s leading renewable independent power producers/energy companies. He has actively participated in developing over 135 MW of constructed solar projects and develop a pipeline of over one Gigawatt in the fast-growing solar power markets in the United States and Europe. Mr. Belmonte was responsible to start up the business in the United States and introducing/developing US operations/business strategy for Fotowatio. His reporting was directly to Chairman, shareholders and Board of Directors, creating relationships with such emerging industry, advising and creating the regulatory environment of emerging technologies (at Federal & State levels), creating Public-Private Partnerships with players such as, DOE & DOD (Dept. of Energy and Defence), hiring and managing new executive and operational staff, creating, updating and executing its business plan and leading fund raising and project finance efforts. He advised and actively participated in bringing key partners into Fotowatio’s shareholding and capitalization efforts, such as General Electric Financial Services. He has participated in Fotowatio’s merge & acquisition of MMA Renewable Ventures, today reconverted into the FRV, a San Francisco based Fotowatio subsidiary, where he served as a principal advisor prior to his strategic company exit.

Specific tasks and relevant experience:Mr. Belmonte acted as a team member in the design and processing of the Initiative "Opportunities for the Majority". He prepared Board documents, negotiated with Bank Management, individual Directors and Board, prepared pipeline opportunities as the infrastructure project specialist, reporting directly to special Manager Appointee. Previous to this position, Mr. Belmonte acted as an internal project specialist for the preparation and approval of loan and grant public bank operations, including leading the environmental and social due-diligence for projects of the IADB Infrastructure and Finance Division; Operational tasks included: identifying, developing, contracting, preparing and revision of project components and its environmental and social strategies for a variety of sectors, such as: transport infrastructure (including: roads, urban transport, ports, airports), low-income housing, energy (including: generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, energy efficiency), sustainable tourism, indigenous community infrastructure projects, Carbon Credit Financing, public utilities regulation aspects (i.e. electricity, water, and telecommunications), infrastructure concessions (Public Private Partnerships - PPP’s), competitiveness, and financial operations.He worked in the integration of public/community participation mechanisms within infrastructure operations (especially with indigenous affairs), ensuring environmental and social feasibility within project cycle of Bank operations; he also acted as a peer reviewer for the preparation, processing and implementation of Banks Environmental and Social policies, the Indigenous People’s Policies, Resettlement Policy, etc.
