Network troubleshooting and on-site integration testing.Systems were developed using C on Windows using a proprietary RTOS, Microtec 6833x development environment and MKS Source Integrity source control system in an ISO9001 compliant development process.Industry protocols used include Ferranti MK2A and MK3, Syseca DSP4 and Modicon MODBUS.Key Achievements:• Design and development of new RTU communications protocol.• Responsible for design and development of a PC based graphical RTU test utility using Visual Basic, which on completion was adopted as the standard tool for test, commissioning and onsite troubleshooting/debugging of the company’s next generation RTU.• Onsite troubleshooting of distribution network for Eastern Electricity.• Integration testing of new RTU and protocol with master station software.

Design and development of finite-capacity scheduling systems and control systems for manufacturing automation incorporating mathematical modelling of manufacturing processes. Integration of these systems with MRPII manufacturing planning systems. Technical lead within Alfa Romeo Avio project team with sole responsibility for providing scheduling system and its integration with the manufacturing control system. This involved responsibility for all aspects of project lifecycle from design and development, to on-site commissioning at the manufacturing plant in Naples, Italy.Team member on numerous other projects with responsibility primarily for software design and development, but also, all other aspects of project lifecycle depending on project.Sole responsibility for design and implementation of numerous bespoke pre-sales support demonstration systems.BAeCAM was an autonomous business unit within British Aerospace which provided manufacturing control software systems to both the parent company and a diverse range of external customers including Caterpillar, British Alcan, Rover.
