About David Blauer

I am an award-winning software executive who has led four ventures for which I have raised $52 million. I currently lead a Portland (ME)-based venture called 40grid. 40grid aspires to deliver the world’s most effective business process automation software for mobile workforces. As CEO, co-founder, and investor, I closed 40grid’s anchor customers and helped bootstrap 40grid through its first major software release. I determine and lead execution of 40grid’s strategic, marketing, and operational plans and drive a company culture that attracts strictly A-players and is based on utter inclusion, merit, trust, and transparency. I also serve as 40grid’s Chief Product Officer and Chief Revenue Officer. As CEO for more than 10 years, I grew my prior venture, Click4Care, from a small company for which I conceived strategy and designed its decision support and workflow software to one with nearly 200 employees, national and international customers who provided health insurance to over 100 million people, and a $100+ million valuation. Click4Care provided investors a 57% after-tax compound annual return. My first startup, where I was EVP of Industry Ventures, completed an IPO in 1999.I have conceived and delivered a variety of industry-changing software solutions and have received several awards for my work (e.g. Ernst & Young Software Entrepreneur of the Year). I am adept at running B2B and B2C2B software companies, and I am particularly expert at:• Developing and executing winning strategic and operational plans• Raising venture capital• Participating on and managing boards of directors• Recruiting and managing elite leadership and operational teams• Architecting, building, and leading effective, healthy, attrition-resistant company-cultures• Designing and managing development of sophisticated SaaS products• Pricing, marketing, and selling complex enterprise technology products and services• Partnering and joint venturing• Managing financial plans and cash flows• The field-services, healthcare, and retail supply chains• Workflow automation• Behavioral economicsI am interested and can succeed as a leader or supporter in most verticals and am considered one of healthcare’s foremost authorities regarding population health management and care coordination software.
