Derek Mathis is a dedicated and compassionate social work professional with a strong foundation in administration, community engagement, and volunteer leadership. Drawing from his experience in office management, kids ministry, and operations, Derek combines his organizational expertise with a deep passion for supporting individuals and families in meaningful ways.Currently serving in a foster care social work role, Derek is committed to advocating for children and families, ensuring they receive the resources and support they need to thrive. His background as an Administrative Assistant at Greene Brothers Well Drilling honed his skills in client communication, record management, and process optimization using tools like QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. As Kids Ministry Director at Next Level Church, Derek led a team of over 60 volunteers, developed onboarding and retention strategies, and organized impactful community outreach initiatives. His time as an Operations Assistant at the Florida Autism Center strengthened his ability to manage scheduling, onboarding, and client relations with sensitivity and care, particularly for families of children with special needs.With a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on Special Education, Elementary Education, Social Work, and Religion, Derek is uniquely equipped to approach challenges with a holistic perspective. His passion lies in empowering others, whether through advocating for vulnerable populations, streamlining operations, or collaborating with teams to create lasting positive change.
