- Advance Planning Branch Head. Maintain control of day-to-day planning group operations, taking necessary action to deal effectively with immediate problems and crisis. This helps ensure that managing material, labor costs, and overtime will maintain complex schedules on track with proper financial management.- Represent Code 121 and Ocean Engineering as the direct Liaison with Private Industry Management, NAVSEA, and all levels of Shipyard Management. Coordinate the efforts of various trades in completing this project on schedule while providing appropriate financial management to maintain the project within cost. - Ensure coordination of new submarine systems are properly planned for installation. Work closely with mechanical systems design and development personnel to resolve conflicts in schedules.- Evaluate Alteration Installation Team execution planning and work performance to advise management on recommended or proposed changes in responses to emergent issues. Develop metric packages used by the Project Management team and customer for financial management, material management, and labor force management.

-Work with the local maintenance facility to plan and execute complex tasks ensuring limited resources are utilized properly to meet rigid Department of Defense timelines.-Provide regulatory oversight during more than 100 complex weapons handling evolutions annually to ensure firm procedural and safety compliance.-Administer programs designed to maintain and improve combat readiness of three submarine crews resulting in on time deployment of all squadron assigned units.-Determine efficiency rating of ships by planning, organizing, conducting, and evaluating competitions and exercises. Coordinate these exercises using assets from six organizations within the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security.-Mentor submarine department heads from three organizations to improve their leadership performance and technical knowledge. This has lead to each department head being recognized as above average in performance as compared to peers’ nation wide.

-Planed and supervised the work of multiple vendors, shipyard shops and ship's force in the overhaul of the submarine nuclear reactor plant and all auxiliary support systems. Personally supervised 115 personnel department. – efforts led to a two month early completion of a 39 month project.-Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance programs for a nuclear power plant and all ship's auxiliary systems.-Manage Quality Assurance program ensuring proper maintenance and testing of all systems. Review all ship’s and external organizations technical work documents for compliance and responsible for approval of formal work procedures.-Spearheaded major modernization program that upgraded all of the ship's combat control systems.-Developed and implemented a new training program that raised the standards in training effectiveness and supervisor evaluation while reducing the administrative burden by 40%.-Implemented measures to improve worker motivation and work methods which directly resulted in a higher moral of personnel and retention.

-First to qualify Officer of the Deck on the new VIRGINA Class submarine. Specifically selected to supervise the conduct of first time underway testing to ensure all requirements were met efficiently and safely. -Directly supervised the initial nuclear propulsion plant test program. As a Senior Supervisory Watch, led a floor level team of over 20 operators in the completion of rigorous training requirements, certifications and operation of all systems associated with this first of a class nuclear propulsion power plant.-Coordinated and planned the participation of over 75 personnel from five different organizations in the operational assessment of a new designed submarine weapons and electronic navigation system.-Administered quality control objectives and activities to ensure the proper maintenance and upkeep of a nuclear propulsion plant.

-Completed the US Navy’s nuclear propulsion training pipeline as an enlisted operator and as a commissioned officer.-Mechanical Operator and Engineroom Supervisor on board USS STONEWALL JACKSON (SSBN 634). Identified factors governing main propulsion plant efficiency, causes of poor performance, and appropriate remedies. -Classroom Instructor and Operational Nuclear Reactor Plant Training Supervisor at the Nuclear Power Training Unit, Charleston, SC. Qualified Master Training Specialist, instructed engine room personnel in casualty control and plant operation procedures.
