In September 2010 a political party asked me to manage and develop their new website. After a month of careful analysis, we decided what I needed to make it work. I was head of a team containing (1 marketing specialist, 2 designers, multiple copywriters, 2DB administrators and 1 developer).The website will have a subsite for each local department (325 departments) which can all be controlled by copywriters all over Belgium. There was a new system implemented concerning newsletters, campaigns, elections and voting. The website needed to be of a very secure type, because of the sensitive data that was placed in the database.

During the first 6 to 12 months I received multiple small assignments. These were mainly development assignments. After 1 year of developing all sorts of tools, I was asked to be the project leader for the new worldwide website. This was a long term project where multiple people reported to me (designers, copywriters, developers & DB admins). Jaga has a database containing 3 million products which all had to appear on the website. I was reporting to the R&D manager. The project was completed successfully, within budget and timeframe after 18 months. After the completion of the project I decided to continue as a freelancer. The main reason why, was the huge amount of paperwork I had, being a freelance teacher for Syntra after my working hours. So I decided to only work freelance. I stopped teaching in the evenings after the birth of my first son.
