Launched in 1998, EntertainmentCareers.Net has become the "industry standard" and the top destination for jobs and career information for the Entertainment, Broadcasting and Digital Media Industries. I started the company with the idea to help people get jobs in what was perceived as a "closed" industry. With a keyboard in one hand and a "Sams Teach Yourself Active Server Pages in 24 Hours" in the other, I set out to build what is now EntertainmentCareers.Net. (then called the Entertainment Employment Guide)Since our humble beginnings in 1998 where we were excited to have 10 people on the website in a given day and doing cartwheels when the first person actually landed their dream job, we have now helped millions of job seekers and have helped companies grow their business. One of our favorite successes is that EntertainmentCareers.Net has become a top resource for employers in finding diverse candidates. One of the greatest things I enjoy about this business is that we have helped an entire generation of people who have been typically excluded from the process.Even though we have had countless success stories, it is still a thrill to get a thank you email when someone gets a job they are really excited about. Helping people in this way is what gets us out of bed in the morning.My biggest thrill is when I meet people and they tell me that we helped them launch their career or they got their current job from the site . It is a fun business when you are in the business of helping people succeed.

Co-founded Reading to Kids, a 501c3 organization, providing initial organizational structure and operational support. Secured initial donations to fund the launch and was responsible for financial management.Reading to Kids is a grassroots organization dedicated to inspiring underserved children with a love of reading, thereby enriching their lives and opportunities for success in the future. To this end, Reading to Kids gathers on average 796 children and 343 volunteers at reading clubs on the second Saturday of every month at seven Los Angeles elementary schools.At the monthly reading clubs, pairs of volunteers read aloud to small groups of children, while their parents receive training on how to encourage their children to read at home. Kids, parents, teachers, and school libraries receive book donations at the end of the reading clubs. These are important donations, as 60 percent of low-income homes do not have age-appropriate reading materials for children.Since its inception in 1999, Reading to Kids has given 149,961 prize books to children who attend the reading clubs, donated 27,179 hardcover books to school libraries, and our volunteers have spent more than 178,905 hours reading to kids..
