My name is Derek and I am a first year Kelley School of Business undergraduate pursuing a degree majoring in Finance. I am originally from Munster, Indiana and have enjoyed being in Bloomington and the new friends I have made throughout attending Indiana University.I like to work with a team and strongly believe that I bring a valuable aspect to many others. I am hardworking and have learned many valuable lessons throughout my experiences. I have grown up playing team sports including baseball, basketball, football, and soccer. Playing different sports helped me gain teamwork skills and has helped me gain friendships that will last a lifetime. I have also worked every summer of my high school career in different jobs including landscaping, stocking fireworks, and installing patios, helping me gain hands on skills. Working and playing team sports have given me the proper skills to confidently pursue a Kelley School of Business degree. I am excited to further expand my knowledge, helping me become the person I strive to be.
