EVP for Community Programs and Civic Leadership at Foundation For The Carolinas-a Charlotte based community foundation with over $4 billion in assets. In this position, Mr. Collier oversees the Foundation's competitive grants programs, as well as affiliate board relationships in 13 counties throughout North and South Carolina. Mr. Collier also leads the Foundation’s civic leadership initiatives including a $26 million housing endowment, efforts to assist veterans returning from conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, The Carolina Thread Trail (500 mile greenways and trails program), Project LIFT ($55 million initiative to close the educational achievement gap) and "Leading on Opportunity", a multi-year/multi-million dollar initiative to help increase economic opportunity and mobility for children and families. Mr. Collier is a sought after speaker on the topic of intergenerational mobility, the power of social capital and the future of the American Dream. Current partners for the mobility work include Opportunity Insights at Harvard and Brookings Institute.

The Transatlantic Cities Network (TCN), an ongoing project founded in September 2008, provides a framework for sustained exchange of information about innovative policies, best practices, and local policy challenges among a diverse network of policymakers, practitioners, and civic leaders who are well-positioned to put new ideas into practice in their home cities. The distinguishing characteristic of the TCN is its focus on developing a tightly connected group of dynamic leaders from each of the participating cities. Mr. Collier served as Vice President, Marketing and Development for KaBOOM!, a national non-profit organization with a vision of a great place to play within walking distance of every child in America. At KaBOOM!, Mr. Collier was responsible for all marketing, communications, government affairs and fundraising efforts of the organization. Under the guidance of Mr. Collier, his department provided multifaceted marketing planning and implementation for the organization’s major initiatives including the launch of The Home Depot “1,000 Playgrounds in 1,000 days” partnership, The Home Depot’s NASCAR “Racing to Play”, PepsiCo Smart Spot, NBC’s “Three Wishes” TV show, and the Amazon.com Social Innovation Awards. In 2006, Mr. Collier’s department help launch a new initiative to build a nation of advocates for a child’s right to play.

Served as the Founding President and Executive Director of Victory Junction , a $30 million state of the art facility co-founded by acclaimed actor Paul Newman and NASCAR drivers Kyle Petty, Richard Petty and Tony Stewart, along with legendary team owner Rick Hendrick. The mission of the North Carolina based non-profit camp (also part of Mr. Newman’s worldwide network of camps) is to provide innovative and empowering camping experiences for children suffering from chronic and/or life threatening illnesses. Starting in 2001, Mr. Collier was responsible for directing all elements of the design, construction, staffing, funding, and programming for a facility that many have called “the most creative and empowering facility of its type in the country”.

Mr. Collier served as Vice President and Deputy Regional Director of the New York region for Phoenix House. While at Phoenix House, Mr. Collier was responsible for a region with a budget of over $35 million, 30 facilities and 700 employees. From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Collier was Regional Director of Phoenix House’s Florida operations.
