With a nearly 45+year career as a professional educator, I have a diversified set of of experiences as a teacher, teacher trainer and mentor, academic researcher, and consultant in international education, trainer and consultant in foreign language education, particularly EFL and ESL, and the use of information and communication technology for learning, training and organizational management. I was a teacher in a state school for juvenile delinquents for the first three years early in my teaching career: 1976-1979. I then become a teacher of K-9 grades, and ultimately computer coordinator while working at two international schools in Tokyo, Japan from 1979-1995. After that, I become a part-time instructor at 7 universities for a very short period of time before becoming a full-time faculty member in the Dept of Foreign Language at Kitasato University in 1997, a medical and life sciences university and research hospital complex located just outside Tokyo, Japan, where I live with my wife and our five dogs. Currently, on my Third Life Career, I am pursuing two new careers simultaneously: My current goals are: 1) Continue work on my current research on Intercultural Communicative Competence (ICC), and to apply for and (hopefully) receive a MEXT Grant for conducting and complete the next major stages of that research2) to pursue the fulfillment of my two concurrent career paths as 1) chief operations manager of Philantropical.org —a nationally recognized nonprofit for helping low income families on the Big Island of Hawaii to purchase a modest homestead 2) tour leader and organizer for the new corporate called Rainbow Travel Network, which seeks to recruit edutrekers.
