The Senior Director of Military Affairs serves the Charleston Metro military community and is responsible for elevating the relationship between the Chamber, the military community, and industry partners. Mission Readiness • Establish and maintain a close working relationship with Joint Base Charleston and its supporting agencies, Charleston Coast Guard Station Charleston, South Carolina National Guard and Reserves.• Serve as a liaison between the military community and chamber members to inform the region's military community and chamber members of the various programs, events, training, and education opportunities. • Collaborate with regional and national partners to enhance mission readiness by supporting the military and veteran population's critical need for adequate long-term and short-term housing needs.Veteran Support • Support regional efforts to provide adequate childcare and dependent education.• Acts as liaison with veteran organizations and federal, state, and local agencies to promote and protect Veterans' interests.Veteran Employment • Advise military and veterans groups on workforce development and transition initiatives that support veterans' and dependents' employment within the region. Provide direct support to programs like the SkillsBridge program. • Leverage existing chamber networks, such as Charleston Young Professionals and Leadership Discovery, to create networking opportunities for military and veterans. • Create a regional career pathway model unique to the Trident Region for transitioning veterans from all branches of the military.Veteran Owned Businesses (VOB)• Develop or collaborate on initiatives that inform and support Veteran owned businesses. • Develop and support business education series for VOBs. • Develop networking events unique to VOBs.• Establish VOB leadership CEO Circle

•I led in developing and executing transformational work-based learning initiatives aligned with improving the state of South Carolina's future workforce needs, resulting in the highest number of student work-based learning experiences in the 2023- 2024—school year.• Led and integrated a diversity strategy for talent development, ensuring a robust and ready pipeline of diverse talent. This crucial strategy was developed in partnership with the Talent Management organization, Diversity and Inclusion, aligning talent development efforts and identifying metrics to measure impact and ROI.• Coordinated and delivered a wide range of professional development workshops in career development, contextual methodology, and work-based learning implementation.
