David stepped down from his role as Managing Director at Social Traders in late 2020 after 12 years where he had responsibility for development and implementation of the organisation’s strategy, staff recruitment and engagement with key government, philanthropic, business and research partners. He is a Founding Member and non-executive Director of Social Enterprise Network Victoria Ltd and a Director of Social Enterprise Australia, the national peak body co-designing and developing the Social Enterprise National Strategy (SENS). He was appointed as Chair at Youth Enterprises Australia (YEA) in May, 2023. David resigned from the YEA Board in October 2024 to coincide with the successful merger between YEA, White Box Enterprises and Civik.David has been closely involved in the development of national social enterprise development initiatives in Australia since 2009. He was an inaugural Director of the Social Enterprise World Forum (SEWF) Community Interest Company (CIC) between July 2015 and October 2020.David has extensive prior senior management experience in the Australian corporate sector, having held numerous government & corporate relations roles at Rio Tinto, Toyota and Amcor with responsibility for strategic business-community partnerships at all these companies..
