Management of the company’s internal engineering department. My role covered a number of areas including:• Value engineering – carried out research, development and roll out of value engineering workbook tool. This is now embedded within the company and is helping to drive efficiencies for both ourselves and our clients.• Managing standard product development across the company, including coordinating ongoing work across various offices and reporting progress.• Acting as the Practice Lead for Temporary Works, including developing and delivering a TW improvement strategy. Carrying out temporary works coordinator (TWC) training and 1-to-1 sessions to improve and assess temporary works competence of prospective TWCs. Delivering temporary works coordinator awareness training to other staff. • Development of guidance on the use of tracked plant on slopes. • Providing independent engineering analysis and advice during safety incident investigations.• Maintaining and improving company procedures for the management of temporary works, inspection and testing, control of design and document control. Auditing against these procedures to highlight best practice and non-compliance.• Working with senior electrical engineers to improve company electrical processes.• Managing the development of a tablet based inspection and test system.• Sustainability – formulating and seeing through the company’s response to the Infrastructure Carbon Review. Created an easy to run report to analyse company or framework wide embodied carbon from principle materials.• Working with a wider industry team developing a Publically Available Standard for Carbon in Infrastructure. Development of Carbon in Infrastructure info graphic video for the Green Construction Board.
