Formed and led the group within Block that developed and integrated digital identity technologies into fintech systems, including Decentralized Identifiers, Verifiable Credentials, and digital trust mechanisms used in cross-border monetary transmission, KYC/KYB verification, and other financial use cases.

Joined the Microsoft Identity division to found and lead product development for emerging digital identity systems. Through collaboration with developers, customers, and government agencies, as well as the open source community and standards bodies (e.g. W3C), we introduced an new form of identity that preserves privacy, enhances security, and enables more personalized experiences.Notable efforts:- Led cross-company initiatives to integrate identity technologies into products and services.- Architected the first scalable decentralized identifier system as a layer 2 on Bitcoin.- Developed numerous international standards and open source technology specifications within the Decentralized Identity Foundation (DIF), the OpenID Foundation (OIDF), and the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Led ecosystem efforts for Microsoft's Edge browser, including developer tools, Web standards development, and customer enablement.

Worked with a diverse group of corporate, public sector, and community stakeholders to create the Decentralized Identity Foundation (DIF), a global non-profit organization dedicated to development of emerging standards and open source technology components for the digital identity ecosystem.- Executive Director for two terms, growing the organization from a handful of companies and startups to over 100 members, including industry leaders such as Microsoft, IBM, Accenture, Mastercard.- Led organizational initiatives that resulted in some of the largest global tech companies moving to adopt solutions based on the work DIF pioneered.

Led consumer-facing, IoT-focused initiatives for Target. As the Product Lead for Mozilla's Developer Ecosystem, I ran product and technical development efforts in the following areas across multiple engineering teams:- Led the Web Extensions platform initiative, culminating in the standardization of Web Extension APIs across browsers.- Led W3C Web Components spec and product initiatives for Mozilla, including: browser-partner collaborations (Google, Apple), standards specs, JavaScript API development, and coordination of implementation in Firefox- Worked on decentralized identity systems and developed DPKI prototypes using Bitcoin- Spearheaded production of UI components and app templates to ensure cohesive UX across Firefox apps- Worked with internal and external platform engineers (Google, Facebook, etc.) on W3C standard specs- Led development of app search and submission mechanisms for the Firefox Marketplace

As a Product Manager at eBay's largest developer partner, I led development of services for eBay users and merchants in the lead-up to acquisition by Alibaba. I split time doing special project development in direct collaboration with the CEO and VP of Engineering.Product and technical work:- Developed new merchant tools- Developed JavaScript components sellers used in eBay listings- Stood-up a new product line around product warranties

Founded an angel-funded startup focused on development of local search technology. We developed a local search app, CityCrawler, that featured a search engine based on highly specific, vertically optimized, faceted rankings of local businesses attributes. I led the following efforts:- Worked with our lead engineer to architect crawlers and faceted search systems- Managed partnerships with other companies and community entities- Designed and implemented the app's frontend (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)- Lead a sales team focused on acquisition of local business customers

Worked directly with the Operations Manager and CEO to develop marketing materials and strategies for their multi-state business operations. Developed, launched, and managed web properties for each of the company's businesses, bring them online for the first time in company history.
