Buckhanan Wilson was installed as International President (Supreme Basileus) in July 2014. She was the Chief Executive of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority from 2014 - 2018.Upon assuming the position of International President, Buckhanan Wilson launched and executed the international program of the sorority, Launching New Dimensions of Service which generated more than a million hours of service per year. The program was hands on, actionable, and community focused to meet the needs of the 1,020 communities in which Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority served worldwide.Operationally, Buckhanan Wilson provided general supervision over the Corporate Office employed personnel and the membership (Boule). This included working directly with the Corporate Office Executive Director, staff, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Board of Director (Directorate) and the membership to implement the sororities programs of service, operate effectively and efficiently, and ensure the perpetuity of the organization. As International Secretary (Supreme Grammateus), Buckhanan Wilson prepared over seventy-five sets of minutes, accurately and timely, for all Board of Director meetings, Educational Advancement Foundation (EAF) Board, Housing Foundation and Constitution Committee meetings and developed the 2008 and 2010 Boule (International Conference) minutes.Buckhanan Wilson prepared and presented to the 2008 and 2010 Boules (International Conference), Board of Director recommendations and proposed amendments to sorority governing documents. In addition, she prepared and executed official sorority, EAF, and Housing Foundation documents, ballots, and resolutions.During her term, Buckhanan Wilson served as a liaison to various international and EAF committees, presented nearly fifty workshops at chapter, regional and international conferences, and served as a featured speaker at numerous conferences, Founders' Day celebrations, officer installations, and other events.

Buckhanan Wilson joined Goodwill in 2000, after seven years with the Private Industry Council of Milwaukee and a distinguished marketing career with S.C. Johnson Wax and the Xerox Corporation. During her tenure at Goodwill, Buckhanan Wilson served in key positions including: Director of Employer Services; Executive Director of Employment Solutions, Inc; Vice President of Workforce Development; Vice President of Human Services. She assumed the role as Sr. Vice President of Mission Services in 2012.Mission Services at Goodwill encompasses multiple program areas and serves over 70,000 individuals annually; Community Programs for individuals with physical or developmental disabilities; Community Services (formeraly Senior Services) for individuals over age 60 and Vocational/Training Services for individuals with economic and other barriers to employment. Mission Services covers 28 program sites including Chicago.
