  • University At Buffalo Graduate School Of Engineering And Applied Sciences
    Teaching Assistant
University At Buffalo Graduate School Of Engineering And Applied Sciences Aug 2017 - May 2020
    Buffalo, New York, Us
As a teaching assistant, I am tasked with personally instructing 60-70 first-year engineering students in the "EAS199 Engineering Principles" course. This course is a part of the SEAS's "First-Year Initiative", which aims to give first-year engineering students a bridge to success in their collegiate careers. Course topics range from basic engineering problem solving processes to the finer details of time management and study habits as a college student. I work closely with students to assist them with the challenges, both academic and not, they experience during their first year of college.
  • Prentice Family Foundation
Fellow, Western New York Prosperity Fellowship
Prentice Family Foundation May 2016 - May 2020
    Jacksonville, Florida, Us
The Prentice Family Foundation’s Western New York Prosperity Fellowship Program is a truly innovative program for college and graduate students with an entrepreneurial drive who want to make a difference in Western New York. The Fellowship Program assists undergraduate and graduate students at the State University of New York at Buffalo (UB) and Canisius College who are actively preparing for careers that further economic development and growth in the Western New York area. The Fellowship Program combines financial assistance, in the form of scholarships, with paid, credit-bearing internships to assist Fellows in acquiring both academic and practical experiences in their intended professions. Fellows are given the opportunity to intern in their chosen fields of interest, where they work alongside and are mentored by leaders in upper-level management.UB and Canisius administer the Fellowship Program with their own specific admission standards and levels of financial assistance. However, a common requirement is that in exchange for receiving the benefits of the Fellowship Program, Prosperity Fellows must commit to working in the eight counties that comprise Western New York for at least two of the ten years following their graduation, thereby giving back economically to the region they have pledged to support.Although UB and Canisius each have their own standards and application process for applying for a Fellowship, as well as their own requirements regarding the internship program, they both offer their Fellows a high level of instruction and hands-on experiences that are designed to instill an understanding of the economic challenges and opportunities awaiting them as they undertake their post-graduation careers. For more information, please visit: http://www.prenticefoundation.org/fellowship-program/

I worked as a project engineer on the Airbus A350XWB primary flight control system. My main project included the integration of new equipment and work instructions for cabling on certain electro-hydraulic actuators within the primary flight control system. This project required a knowledge of supply chain, manufacturing processes, and environmental durability. Aside form my main project, I commonly worked on other projects that require a knowledge of configuration management, drafting, 3D printing, prototyping, and failure analysis. I commonly interfaced with a team of product/project engineers, metallurgical analysis professionals, and assembly technicians.

  • University At Buffalo School Of Engineering And Applied Sciences
    Undergraduate Research Assistant
University At Buffalo School Of Engineering And Applied Sciences Sep 2015 - May 2016
    Buffalo, Ny, Us
This project is a continuation of my previous research project. My team, under a grant won from the university's undergraduate research funding opportunity, is working under Dr. Amin Karami to look at the issue of airflow separation from an airfoil. We will be experimenting with a novel idea; using piezoelectric actuators on the surface of the wing to create a Moving Surface Boundary Layer (MSBL), by patterning the vibrations of the actuators in a sinusoidal wave that will essentially "move" the air over the wing. This can greatly reduce separation, thus giving the airfoil a higher lift capability and increased critical angle of attack.
  • University At Buffalo School Of Engineering And Applied Sciences
    Undergraduate Research Assistant
University At Buffalo School Of Engineering And Applied Sciences Dec 2014 - Sep 2015
    Buffalo, Ny, Us
I am on a team of four undergraduate students under the advisement of Dr. M. Amin Karami of the University at Buffalo. The project is to design and fabricate the wings of a morphing wing aircraft. The goal of this phase of the research is to design the structure of the wing and fabricate it through laser cutting, and other precision techniques. The trailing edge of the wing will be made out of piezoelectric actuators that deform in response to voltage. This biomimetic approach can significantly increase the flight efficiency and thus increase the flight time of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). I gained experience writing an NSF-style research grant for undergraduate students and was awarded $1,500 toward this project as a result of said grant.
