We analyzed the current forecasting generated push system which caused the company to experience large amounts of out of stocks, over stocks, and out of date product. Our task was to implement a system to eliminate over supply, reduce out of stocks and out of dates each by 50%. We analyzed the current forecasting production state, identified the key issue of what caused stockout and out of date product, and formalized a solution to implement a hybrid pull replenishment/Kanban system. This system provided a reorder point and quantity on a per SKU basis depending on inventory turn levels. We applied external as well as internal insights to further prove how and why this approach would be best to implement within the company. Stretch Goal Achievement: Out of Stock Reduction (January '19 - December '19) - 61%. Value Creation: $702,608 annualized savings

The issue at hand was a current tech-clothing company was holding too much inventory levels at unnecessary locations, used inefficient routing for transportation purposes, and interacted with too many suppliers. Our key findings are listed below.• Analyzed a distributor of electronics and high-tech products at 6 DC locations with $3.3 billion in annual revenue• Reduced number of "C" suppliers and allocated orders to “A” suppliers to increase transactions allowing PEC to be viewed as a main customer creating higher inventory turnovers and lower purchasing costs• Reduced number of LTL shipments to TL saving an average of $8.38 per shipment and $467,436 in transportation costs• Aligned inventory with demand by region to reduce out of region backorders and safety stock to 20% saving PEC $332,865,029
