Leading to being a principal and partner in the firm, my markets expanded from higher education, science & technology, and workplace to work with a broader group of interdisciplinary teams to cover mixed-use and multi-family residential development, urban planning, and civic and local government. A hallmark accomplishment of our work is a state-wide planning program to support mass transit and transit-oriented development that leverages our urban planning capabilities as well as our other market subject expertise.As a member of our local management committee, I report and share with regional leadership trends and events in the marketplace across our varied sectors and evaluate cross-market opportunities to promote our integrated design practice.Currently serving on the firm's Board Advisory Council, I am part of a team research project that advises our Board of Directors.

I joined SmithGroup to cover business development for the higher education, science & technology, and workplace markets. At that time our higher education studio was newly formed, and one of my areas of focus was growing that market and successfully expanding into community college and CSU project work within my first two years.Another area of focus was expanding into civic, local government and cultural market segments with our workplace studio and successfully partnering with municipal agencies to deliver two new civic community campuses.

My role for Huntsman, a nationally recognized leader in interior design and one of the top 5 interior design firms in the Bay Area, involved the development of strategic marketing programs. I worked closely with the firm's leadership and management team to craft marketing strategies aimed directly at client objectives and visions. One of my key accomplishments was expanding the firm's public sector client base during the early 2000's by leveraging significant experience in due diligence and feasibility studies, facility condition assessments, space planning, and master planning. We cultivated a marketing culture around the premise that the physical environment can transform and support the business, operations, and well-being of its owners, operators, and occupants.

I led a a marketing team within the firm's corporate office and regional branch offices throughout California. Responsibilities included client research and engagement, team development, lead procurement and management, content marketing, and marketing information management.

My primary duty at SLRC was assisting in the publication of Rebuilding Communities in America, which documents examples of co-housing structures and environments. I assisted in design concepts for transforming single-family housing units to multiple-family co-housing schemes in Berkeley. Architectural duties included drafting of plans for interior wall reconstruction and for seismic retrofit and structural support.
