I have been in the field of education in various roles for 34 years. Prior to my current role as IB World School Executive Director, I have been a bus driver, B/A Director, classroom teacher, Principal, Head of International Schools, COO to Superintendent. I have worked successfully with educational institutions continuously with full passion and dedication. During this time, I have been involved in many different roles that have created the effective manager/leader I am today. I have led large organizations as well as smaller more intimate; both present wonderful opportunities unto themselves. I have led the development and managed schedules, budget, hiring, retention of staff, marketing, etc...in accordance with the District/Board expectations. I have supervised employees as few as 40 and my most recent experience allowed me to supervise over 7,500 staff along with 15,000 students and their families. Organization is key when leading and managing such a large number of people. My leadership skills are always valued as each of my employees consistently ranked me extremely high on leadership assessments my school district used. (ie LPI & KPI) Additionally, my ability to lead would not be so strong if not for my ability to communicate regularly with our stakeholders. Leading and Managing are very different skills and objectives; both are critical to a leader as well as an organization's ultimate success. Based on my varied experiences, I am able to effectively assess situations as unique and adapt accordingly for the betterment of the organization.
