Hearst Television's Washington Bureau provides both editorial and technical support to the company's local television stations across the country, reaching nearly one in five households. As Senior Producer, I act as a supervisor inside of the newsroom while also getting the opportunity to produce content in the Nation's Capitol and follow breaking stories across America. A few of my duties include: -Organizing and keeping the daily schedules and calendars for a team of 14 people, built around daily shoots for news of the day, enterprise pieces, and individual station requests-Ensuring the distribution of content to all stations across the company -Developing relationships with lawmakers who represent our local markets, ensuring access for our stations for both daily stories and special events, such as inaugurations and the State of the Union -Contributing to the production of daily stories, including researching, contacting, and interviewing subjects, choosing sound bytes, videos and natural sound for pieces, developing and executing graphics, and working with reporters on package copy

As an original member of the team at The National Desk, I had the opportunity to launch and develop an original, dynamic product to share information across the country from markets other media companies often ignore. In this role, I: -launched three shows within a year, producing newscasts for morning, evening, and weekend newstimes -spearheaded successful efforts to create graphics packages and brandedsegments, coordinating with dozens of stations across the country to implementin various news markets-trained more than a dozen employees on graphics and otherinternal systems-identified, researched, pitched and wrote relevant, timely and newsworthy story ideas for diverseaudiences across multimedia platforms

As the 10pm Sunday producer at WBFF-TV, I was responsible for setting the tone of the nightly coverage for a legacy station. As the 4pm producer for Monday-Thursday, I ensured those stories were followed up on, establishing a reputation of relentless journliasm in the community. In just 8 hours, we worked to put together fast-paced yet informative coverage, with a focus on storytelling and accountability journalism.

At WCIV/WTAT-TV, I produced several shows, spending extended time doing the 6pm, 10pm, and ultimately the 5pm lead-off newscast. I was in charge of choosing and writing content from Monday through Friday at the ABC affiliate in the Charleston, South Carolina area. I spent summers supervising interns, and also lent a hand with producing other newscasts and field production when needed.

WLTX was an amazing opportunity to get hands-on experience in a real world setting. During the week, I had the chance to shadow one of the station's reporters on daily shoots as well as breaking news. On the weekends, I helped the on-duty producer write the day's newscast.

Carolina News is a 30-minute program produced by senior broadcasting students at USC. Positions rotate every day so all students got the chance to produce, direct, report, and shoot for the daily newscast. In addition, we were given the chance to one man band two long form stories and participate in one 30-minute magazine form broadcast.
