Graduate Teaching AssistantUniversity Of California, San Diego Aug 2005 - Jun 2007La Jolla, Ca, UsGrader and Teaching Assistant in the Bioengineering Department during my PhD studies at UCSD. The classes I TA'd for included: Introduction to Bioengineering Design (BENG 100), Bioengineering Mass Transfer (BENG 103B), Continuum Mechanics (BENG 110), and Biomechanics (BENG 112B). -
Graduate Research Assistant - Intern - Michael Berns LabUniversity Of California, San Diego May 2006 - Aug 2006La Jolla, Ca, UsWorked as a summer intern in the Michael Berns Lab. The lab uses Laser Tweers to help answer questions related to evolutionary biology. My research advisor was a post-Doc in the Berns Lab, Elliot Botvinick. I setup an optical laser tweezer fluorescence microscope system using LabView. Laser tweezer system was developed to characterize the effects of shear stress on epithelial cell membrane and cytoplasm using the positioning and rotation of polystyrene microspheres. Correlated the change in optical power density of the laser tweezers with viscosity and deformation of the cells membrane using real-time live cell imaging.
