Culture of the organization is a key component that is essential in linking safer products and services to safety performance. Culture are the product of values and actions of the organization’s leadership as well as the results of organizational leaning. Cultures are not really “created” or “implemented;” they emerge over time and as a result of experience.It is for this reason that my management framework facilitates decision-making that shapes the environment in which employees work is crucial to organizational performance in all aspects of the organization’s business, including safety.Organizations need both a robust SMS and a positive culture to achieve consistent safe results; they are like body and soul, and reinforce each other.
