During my graduate scheme I spent roughly 2/3 of my time in the Electrical Energy Management team, and 1/3 rotating through placements within the company, in order to develop as a well-rounded engineer. A large project I worked on involved me simulating a new type of electrical machine, for novel use in the automotive sector. This resulted in patents being filed and a personal reward from the company for my work.Spent a year leading a graduate taskforce dedicated to energy management. Organised and hosted idea generation events, pushed for innovation in the face of technical and environmental challenges, and researched and presented business cases for ideas.Placements:Electrical Programmes (3 months): coordinating engineering departments prior to vehicle launch.Hybrid System Integration (3 months): working with AutoIT coding software to develop data analysis tools.Low Carbon Vehicle Research (7 weeks); I researched electrical loadings and created a framework for minimising loads which is used throughout the electrical and hybrid departments, as well as performing material testing in a professional laboratory.Land Rover Defender production line (2 weeks); understanding the manufacturing process, as a foundation to the engineering component of my work.Training and Courses:MEng level Automotive Networking, Warwick University.MEng level Hybrid Systems Technology, Warwick University.Six-Sigma yellow belt problem solver.Problem-solving training.Creativity and Inspiration training.Participated in a large number of training courses across the graduate scheme, covering all aspects of the business, and personal skills from confident speaking to problem-solving techniques.
