As Vice President of Data Engineering and Analytics, I am responsible for all data and analytic strategy and operations which support multiple products and services across WebPT’s enterprise. My role includes the daily operations of all data infrastructure, data modeling and data sciences to develop new analytic products for the organization. As Vice President, I was responsible for delivering Banner’s innovative data, analytic and technology strategies solutions which support acute, ambulatory, member, network and data management. My role encompassed the direct leadership and oversight of:-Organizational data science teams focused on predictive and prescriptive modeling.-Result Highlights-Surgical perioperative analytics resulting in identification of over $60m in volume and supply chain savings.-Care process analytics identified target multi-year opportunities to move the enterprise from 3 to 4.5 STARS across specific facilities and service lines-Predictive modeling to identify length of stay reduction improvement due to care delays published by the Centers for Disease Control, resulting in improved care models, patient outcomes, and costs.-Enterprise-wide data reporting & analytics-Result Highlights-Sepsis analytics resulting in 30% enterprise clinical process adherence improvement & opportunities and over 60 lives saved to date-Advanced analytics identified $160m in care management opportunity in health plan populations-Business Intelligence and data warehousing operations.-Research data and analytics for Banner Institutes.-Registry data, abstraction regulatory reporting.-Insurance Division population health IT, applications, and data systems operations.-Management of a $30 million annual budget and 300 staff.

As Senior Director, I was responsible for developing technology to support all Population Health programs for Banner Health and the Banner Health Network Insurance Division. In this role I was accountable for:-Strategies and solutions which support the management of data, quality and population-Result Highlights-Banner Network Accelerator - cutting edge solution to improve access to behavioral health care for at-risk and crisis populations. Reduced member access to care from weeks to minutes. -Real-time patient alerting system for independent network clinics linked directly to Banner‘s core population data engine. Broadcasts clinically integrated care alerts and opportunities at independent provider offices at the point of care as members are seen, Bidirectional data allows resolution of care gaps, in hours instead of months.-Claims, registries, and network management IT systems.-Focused measurement and analysis of clinical, network and population outcomes.

As Director of Performance and Strategy I was responsible for the development and execution of data-driven Population Health strategies focused on performance and payment models in order to create optimal value for 50,000 Home Care Aides across Washington and Montana. In this work I was responsible for:• Evaluation of carrier performance to drive accountability and improvement using new payment models that control costs and improve the health status of beneficiaries.• Designing and executing data, technology, behavioral science, and financial initiatives which increase quality, clinical outcomes and improve the value of plan benefits.• Development and implementation of standard data and strategic processes to assure quality outcomes and service design. • Identification of short and longer-term risks which inform operations and strategic planning.• Continuous quality improvement opportunities which increase member engagement.• Collaboration with executive leadership, state and health plan partners, vendors and regional health care organizations.

As Director of Business Development I was responsible for the development, monitoring and oversight of Population Health and Accountable Care Organization (ACO) activities in support of Northern Arizona Healthcare and PathfinderHealth ACO’s strategic goals and objectives. This included development of new value-based provider reimbursement methodologies which align provider incentives to promote quality and efficiency. I was accountable for all data analytics and oversight of technology-focused operational functions related to the organization’s ACO methodologies and clinically integrated systems. This included strategic and population health information technology planning to design ACO solutions which promote long-term mutually beneficial relationships between all provider, community and hospital partners to foster quality patient care. In this work I partnered with leadership across multiple disciplines and organizations to create and promote evidence-based, technology-driven programs to manage costs, and to identify and implement opportunities related to value-based care.

Head, iSolutions, Aetna Medicaid As Head of iSolutions I was responsible for the vision, development and implementation of innovative health information technology strategies for Aetna Medicaid. These solutions include:-Point of care solutions to support PCMH and ACO clinical programs.-Mobile solutions to drive member engagement.-Clinical program and strategy development to improve outcomes, increase efficiency and reduce cost.-Collaboration across departments to ensure adoption, buy-in and strategic alignment for new technologies.-Support for new business lines and request for proposals.

As Director of Business Reporting and Analytics for Aetna Medicaid I was responsible for the timely delivery of business reporting and analytic products. -Tracking, delivery and audit of reports for business, state and regulatory reporting.-Creation of a business metrics dictionary including a listing of all known organizational metrics written to an established standard.-Automation and report centralization of plan based reporting using established reporting framework, methodology and metrics.-Delivery of leadership business dashboards based on centralized reporting and metrics in a visual, easy to use and understandable format.

As Director of Health Information Technology (HIT) I provided vision and leadership in the development and implementation of health information technology programs to support medically underserved Medicare and Medicaid populations. -Led the planning and implementation of clinical and business information systems.-Developed and implemented a centralized Patient Management and Electronic Health Records system across 12 physical locations for over 300 users.-Assured HIPAA compliance, system security, and data replication.-Provided budget and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of information technology systems.-Wrote and managed federal grants.

As distance learning and telemedicine manager for North Country HealthCare I created several unique and innovative approaches to solving disparities in health care and health professions education. Specific duties included the creation of a telemedicine network spanning across 12 clinic locations, the creation of a social networking website to reach high school and college age students interested in health careers, and a distance learning network that provides certification, college education and continued professional education to the rural areas of northern Arizona using state-of-the-art video teleconferencing equipment.

As a public school educator my responsibilities included daily lesson planning and instruction for grades K-6. During this time I worked to develop new technology based instructional methods that would function as core curriculum in both Tempe and Flagstaff school districts. Creation of instructor materials was an integral part of this process. My focus on technology and grant writing allowed me to create the first fully funded and staffed computer lab in Flagstaff. Working with staff members I created original curriculum at each grade level which allowed for a dynamic, comprehensive technology program to be developed.
