Gift of Life coordinates organ and tissue recovery and transplant activities within the state of Michigan. As an Applications Developer, I create web-based applications that provide data analysis, daily activity recording support for our employees, and interaction with external organizations. Some applications and software tools connect data from disparate systems to provide various departments with data from systems elsewhere in the organization. I planned and executed development projects from design to release, working with users across the organization in the process. I was effectively in the role of a senior developer, providing guidance and knowledge on software development activities and technologies, as well as IT concepts in general.

Beyond Interactive was a provider of web-based advertising services and content. My hiring was based on their desire to migrate from "Classic ASP" to ASP.Net. I worked on the migration while also mentoring development staff on associated technologies, such as C# and ASP.Net.

Performed a dual role of outside software consulting and support for HNW's industrial automation network hardware. Software projects included a configuration tool for HNW's DeviceGate Ethernet-to-DeviceNet (CAN) gateway, written in C++ and utilizing multi-threaded, TCP/IP level programming.

IDI is a developer of "middleware", supporting the movement of data between time-and-attendance and payroll systems. I was a developer within the IT department, writing web-based applications to support the company and employees. Provided guidance to the IT department in software development techniques, mentored team members in advancement of their software development skills.

DCA/MyVesta was a nonprofit debt arrangement organization. I was hired when the organization was young - still based in the founder's attic - and oversaw the IT department through growth to an entity that handled millions of dollars of payments each month. During this time I wrote software, managed the IT infrastructure, and hired and managed four subordinates: two developers and two systems technicians.

The Arlington office of ADL supplied consulting services to the US government and associated entities. My first placement was at the USPS Engineering Center in Merrifield, VA, where I maintained and experimented with software within OCR and barcode-reading equipment. My second placement was at USPS Headquarters in Washington, DC, within the Marketing department, where I developed a prototype for a speculative product involving web-based bulk/advertising mailing services.

Developed and enhanced firmware and PC-based device driver and user interface software associated with network interface hardware connected to industrial automation networks. This work included coordination with groups throughout the corporation (software, hardware, marketing, manufacturing, etc) and site visits to assist end-users with the diagnosis and repair of network communication problems. A Project Management team of which I was a member was a finalist for the Rockwell Chairman’s Award.

This department provided architectural and engineering design services to the University. During my time there I developed dBase III software, wrote PC applications, and enhanced the CAD system by writing macros and short programs.
