Returning to security and event safety has given me a new zest for life, which is carried forward with enthusiasm into any role I take on. My versatility and flexibility has seen me deployed across a range of roles in security, event safety and crowd control. These roles have included high profile corporate security, arenas, festivals, outdoor events and sporting events to providing a manned security presence. I have also been lucky enough to gain experience in working within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) which is both challenging yet very rewarding; which may not be for everyone. Roles that have required the highest standards of customer service and interactions while giving a constant reassuring presence and exuding confidence in dealing with any incident or situation promptly before it as time escalates.I have been deployed in extended roles that have included overt and covert security/intelligence gathering.

Centre Manager employed by Tore Properties Ltd with responsibilities for; day-to-day running of the Centre and Centre's car park including but not limited to the following: setting/managing and reconciling of the service charge budget, mall commercialisation, maintenance, tendering of contracted services and contract management, asset management including tendering and site management of PPM and projects, incident investigation in relation to possible insurance claims, tenant and customer liaison. Being an ambassador for both the client and the shopping centre at local and national level, including on occasions being the face of the centre when dealing with the media. Responsible for the building and maintaining of working relationships with the local council and the various external agencies.

Following the restructuring ad reduction of the Management Team at Crossgates Shopping Centre, took on the roles of Assistant Centre Manager. This role included the following responsibilities: managing of soft and hard service contractor, Health and Safety across the entire site, reviewing of and amending emergency procedures across the site to take into account changes in the environment. Implementing and overseeing changes to reduce the carbon footprint of the centre, which were recognised at local and national level

Crossgates Shopping Centre

Built working relationships and partnerships with various external agencies, which gained national recognition and accreditation. Managed all elements of the In-House security team and contracted cleaning team, including recruitment, training and staff development, grievance and disciplinary procedures. Sat in with local government bodies to address crime and Anti Social Behaviour. Setting and managing the security budget for the centre, while also keeping abreast of innovations and technology to enhance the effectiveness of the team.

Various security site across Leeds before taking a permanent possition at Crossgates Shopping Centre (2001), where I worked with the centre managment team to bring the security team in-house. Whiles setting a number of KPI for the team to work towards including building relationships with various enforcement agencies, local goverment agencies etc. In November 2003 I was promoted to the position Security Manager with the extended responsibility of manageing the contracted cleaners

Reporting back to blue chip companies and local government of on media coverage they received on local and national radio and TV. A role that included monitoring the programs live and reporting back to companies while negotiating sales with the PR teams / company spokes person.

Had a varied and successful career spanning a number of roles within the Royal Marines, which resulted in obtaining the rank of Sergeant and specialising in the role of a Mountain Leader. These roles included active service during the Falklands conflict and other operational tours of Northern Ireland, training of recruits during basic training and the training of Royal Marines in Mountain and Arctic Warfare, recognisance, weapon handling. Time was spent with light helicopter operations which included basic maintenance, marshalling etc.

Sunderland

Working along side instructors as an assistant istructor for climbing, canoeing, skiing and other outdoor activities. As a 16/17 yr old I was entrusted to lead/chaperone groups on treks across wide sections of UK countryside
