Administer statewide resource sharing programs at the Texas State Library and Administration. Manage the TexShare Consortium, including the TexShare Card and TexShare Databases Program. Oversee the TexQuest Electronic Resources Program.

Coordinate theTexShare program, including delivery of statewide resource sharing services. Develop and administer related programs to support local and regional collaboration. Provide leadership in working with consortia statewide. Collaborate with colleagues statewide to design and implement innovative ways to serve Texans through statewide and regional resource sharing.

Consult with libraries, archives, and museums on digital collections projects. Assist with project planning and management, grantwriting, and technology assessments. Teach workshops on digital asset management systems, metadata creation, controlled vocabularies and thesauri, and interoperability, including linked data. Offer services including metadata harvesting and normalization and technical documentation.

Responsible for researching and implementing natural language processing models to support automated text-based content analysis. Harvest and process related online documents for non-classified research by GRAs and other staff. Develop bash scripts for image conversion and optical character recognition. Work with Java developers to improve text analysis software functionality and integrate NLP tools including GATE, NLTK, and others. Coordinate documentation for the overall project.

Consult with and assist participants developing digital library projects. Design and maintain cross-institutional search tool (http://www.texasheritageonline.org) and program wiki. Collaborate with colleagues statewide to provide seamless, integrated access to primary resource materials. Monitor and participate in the development of standards and guidelines for digital projects, including metadata, interoperability, controlled vocabulary, and preservation. Assist in development of collaborative grant opportunities and offer training workshops on metadata, controlled vocabularies, project management, and digital library systems and applications.

Responsible for collection development for genealogy and local history services. Worked with Williamson County Genealogical Society board and membership in management of joint collection. Taught regular classes on genealogical research methods, including use of databases (HeritageQuest, Ancestry Library Edition) and other online resources. Prepared displays and exhibits on local history.
