I am an information professional with ample experience in academic and litigation research. Presently I am working with Carleton University. Prior to my position with Carleton University, I worked as the Corporate Records Analyst for the OCDSB where I facilitated the implementation and roll-out of the District's ECM software and managed their records program providing advice and guidance on records management issues. Previously I was employed as the Head Archivist/Litigation Researcher at the Department of Justice - Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, but I have worked as an Archivist and Archival Assistant at the University of Toronto and Memorial University of Newfoundland. I enjoy working on large projects and never stray away from a challenge. I have ample experience in leading litigation discovery projects, carrying out intensive research projects requiring complex research reports to provide updates to senior executives. I have researched, written and edited various reports based on Government, historical and archival records.

I managed a database of over 5000 records used for litigation support on various projects including Labrador water rights issues, aboriginal rights litigation projects and land boundary disputes. This has included adding, deleting, maintaining and transferring electronic records between servers/databases with a particular importance on metadata preservation.I have gained exceptional knowledge of working with electronic database software, specifically inMagic DBTextworks, AD Summation (where I was the administrator for the Department of Justice) and HP TRIM. This included maintaining software upgrades, troubleshooting and offering education to my colleagues on how to use database software.As the Head Archivist for the Department of Justice I was responsible for creating a good working relationship with various litigators, directors, assistant deputy ministers and colleagues. I was not only responsible for the electronic database of archival material, but the paper records as well. I maintained the preservation efforts and accessioning of all records contained in the archive of the Aboriginal Research and Civil Litigation Unit, used for various Aboriginal litigation projects. With regards to litigation support I was responsible for writing reports on litigation projects dealing with: Tobacco Cost Recovery, aboriginal rights, water rights and boundary issues. I have intimate knowledge of the transcription of confidential reports and correspondence dealing with litigation research on projects such as: Labrador water rights and Tobacco Cost Recovery, where I was given access to Cabinet Secretariat confidential papers. -
