During this period, I rapidly advanced to become subject matter expert for technology new to Simplot. I carried out coding, architecting and software engineering for cloud based solutions integrating various ERP vendors as well as master data governance solutions. In addition, I introduced development team to industry standard best practices, such as reusing code via Nuget packages, clean code practices and pragmatic programming.Selected Accomplishments:• Introduced new cloud based technologies such as event driven processing, queue based processing, serverless computing and containerization using Microsoft Azure solutions.• Integrated ERP solutions between SAP HANA, JD Edwards and Sage to automate financial transactions between the systems. This reduced overhead by enabling master data teams to avoid dual authoring.• Rewrote multiple applications from deprecated technologies (SSIS, Azure in-process functions) to industry standard technologies (C#, Azure isolated durable functions).• Automated software build and deployment using Azure DevOps and Terraform.

This was a promotion to oversee the Supply Chain department, including strategy, supply chain planning, order support, scheduling, sourcing, and technologies. I supervised as many as 200 direct and indirect reports and coordinated multi-functional supply chain, project management, and technology teams for special projects. In this role, I led as many as 3 major initiatives at any time. During this time, I planned and directed a multi-year, complex project to implement an enterprise supply chain management tool. I completed the project within schedule and budget goal with zero unplanned downtime and no impact on supply chain or business performance. The system was also credited with allowing Micron to avoid supply chain issues relating to the pandemic and war in the Ukraine.Selected Accomplishments:• Produced major cost savings by achieving dramatically reducing excess inventory.• Increased on-time delivery and supply fill rate, while improving supply utilization.• Enhanced customer service levels and customer satisfaction.• Enabled faster responses to government policies, foreign sanctions, and COVID policies.• Delivered an industry-leading linear programming capability that optimized supply.• Provided the first detailed model of the company’s end-to-end manufacturing flow.

During this period, I advanced through several increasingly responsible software engineering roles. I carried out coding, technical project management, training, architecting, software engineering, and more, and supervised project teams. In addition, I architected, designed, and developed critical backend applications, managed projects as large as $50M, and traveled globally to lead projects in the US, China, Taiwan, Italy, and Japan. I also maintained distributed quality assurance applications for all factory product lines and supervised a development team of 15 spread across multiple locations in 7 countries.Selected Accomplishments:• Enhanced efficiency by architecting, coding, and leading the development of a backend server that predicted factory bottlenecks and enabled rapid adjustments to meet customer demands.• Increased customer satisfaction and reduced downtimes for customers by managing the creation of a tool that predicted solutions and proactively sent parts to customers based on RMA data.
