DD began working part-time at Dudgeon & Company in 1987 as she attended the University of Louisville. Upon graduating with honors as the Outstanding Marketing Student of the Class of 1994, DD went to work full-time at the family-owned firm. She has held positions in production management, customer service/sales and bookkeeping.Dudgeon & Company was started in 1981 by Tom Dudgeon. The small firm has a family atmosphere and offers personal one-on-one attention to approximately twenty clients. Tom and DD consider themselves "coaches" who come along side clients to help them establish a marketing strategy externally as well as internally.January 2015, DD along with her father Tom and cousin, Jim Sheehy, began a new venture as e3 marketing. The new firm will allow Tom to start his retirement as Jim and DD take over the company. e3 marketing promotes itself as an "all-inclusive" marketing firm. Jim comes from a background of social and digital media while DD brings her expertise of traditional marketing. Together the pair works with clients to enter the digital world of marketing while maintaining the correct brand and marketing message.In 2021 after the retirement of Tom and the heartbreaking passing of Jim, DD decided to take some time for herself and "retire" from full-time work. She is currently helping a few clients and doing non-profit work as she enjoys time with her husband and two girls. But DD doesn't sit still easily and is constantly on the look for her next "project".
